I was 11 about to begin the 7th grade at Portola Jr./Sr. I have seen many changes living in Plumas County over the past 54 years. Electrical Code Ontario Pdf here. My Dad, was the Manager of Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Co-Op for over 30 years until his retirement. My Mom owned a Gift Shop in Blairsden. Throughout my youth, I worked in many of the local business and even the “Mohawk Ranger Station” for the U.S. Forest Service and De Georgeo Lumber Company.

Upon graduation from Portola High School, I began classes at the Feather River College in Quincy which at that time was located at the Plumas County Fairgrounds. It was exciting to be one of the first students to begin classes at the “New FRC”. I later transferred to Collage of The Redwoods in Eureka, California. Cga-7064dtvd Driver Windows 7. My wife Jennifer moved to Portola from So. California with her family in 1957. We will be celebrating our 43rd wedding anniversary in August, and have three children and eight grandchildren, all living locally.

In 1982, Jennifer and I started our business, Engel Construction. For over 35 years, Engel Construction has hired local employees and purchased local materials when possible. We are proud to be a part of the community. Lastly, I have had the honor and privilege of serving as the District 5 Plumas County Supervisor for the past two and a half years. I am committed to serving my community and Plumas County to better our lives, the lives of our families, friends, and those who are fortunate enough to call Plumas County home and those who love to visit.

Our Family is steadfastly rooted in Plumas County which we care deeply about and are all very thankful for. ​ DAY IN THE PARK ​ ​ COMMUNITY APPRECIATION AWARD The 4th of July committee has chosen the Adopt-A-Highway volunteers for the Community Appreciation Award. Adopt-A-Highway is sponsored by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Seven groups are being acknowledged for cleaning Highways 89&70. These groups are: Whitehawk Ranch, Lions Club, Graeagle Land & Water, Plumas –Sierra Bicycle Club, Hard Core Hikers, I Love Portola Committee, and Memory of Ladio Zazueta. It is estimated by the state that volunteer removal of litter saves the state approximately $20 million dollars each year.

In the last five years, Adopt-A-Highway participants have collected more than 77,000 cubic yards of trash on California roadsides. The program provides a great opportunity to promote civic responsibility and community pride. Thank you, Adopt-A-Highway Volunteers for keeping our local highways clean!
