The first answer made it clear in my opinion but i`ll just retouch some advice. Basically the box has to say bonus recon helmet included. When you open it there should be an unused card with a code on the back. If you bought this game used, then unfortunately your out of luck if it didn't come with one. But if you bought this game new and it was not sealed then maybe an employee or kid opened the box to get the code or the box just was not manufactured right.

If this is the case then you can call gamestop and they`ll redirect you to bungie to receive a new code. This is the ONLY way you can receive a new code unless you want to buy one off someone. Please do not use those code generators they are useless and it would be a miracle for someone to be generous enough to give you a recon these days.

Wow thats kind of weird, when I preordered my copy of Halo Reach the recon helmet add on was in the game case with the instructional booklet, are you sure you didn't miss it when you opened the game? Because it should be there.
